Walmart Marketplace (MP) offers a variety of products including major appliances.
Major appliances include:
- Beverage Coolers, excluding mini
- Clothes Dryers
- Cooking Ranges
- Cooktops
- Dishwashers, excluding countertop
- Freezers
- Ice Makers, excluding countertop
- Microwave Ovens, above the cooking range/built in
- Range Hoods
- Refrigerators, excluding mini
- Trash Compactors
- Washing Machines
- Wine Cellars/Coolers
Tips for Buying a Major Appliance
To help avoid returns and/or restocking fees, we recommend that you use these tips when buying a major appliance:
- Research your options.
- Measure the space at least twice and compare to dimensions included on the item page to ensure fit.
- Make sure the space has the right utilities, voltage, and plug type for your appliance.
- Buy any necessary accessories for installation/use (E.g., hoses, plugs, vents, etc.).
- Develop a plan to assemble and install the item.
- Share any special delivery instructions with the delivery carrier (where applicable).
Accepting a Major Appliance Delivery
Before accepting a major appliance delivery, you should inspect your appliance for defects/damage when it arrives.
- If any damage exists, please notify the driver, ask for options, and/or refuse the delivery.
- Discounts for defects/damage are at the MP seller’s discretion, we recommend refusing delivery to avoid further complications.
Returns and Refunds
You can get a full refund for an unopened/uninstalled major appliance within two days of delivery.
- Start the return in the Walmart app or on our returns page.
- Major appliances aren’t returnable to Walmart stores.
Unopened Appliances
Unopened appliances are unopened, undamaged, and uninstalled appliances in original factory sealed packaging.
- You can return these items to the seller within 30 days of accepting delivery in the original manufacturer packaging.
- Unopened/uninstalled major appliances are subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% after the two-day time frame.
Opened/Installed Appliances
An open/installed product refers to an item that has been received, inspected, and signed for by you, and for which the packaging/seal has been broken. You should inspect your items before accepting delivery, signing for it, and before opening the item. If you notice any damage before accepting and signing, the delivery can be refused at no charge.
- Exchanges and refunds can occur within the 2-day timeframe.
- For the remaining 28 days returns/refunds for opened items are at the seller’s discretion and may be subject to additional fees.
- Installed items cannot be returned and customers should defer to the manufacturer warranty.
Exceptions
- You can return small or dorm size appliances and wine refrigerators within 90 days.
- You can return them within 30 days of delivery if sold on Walmart MP.
- Any custom or made-to-order items cannot be returned for refund or exchange.
